The parents of a seven-year-old are speaking out and revealing more information after their son was reportedly found hanging in the bathroom of C. Paul Barnhart Elementary School in Waldorf, Maryland.
The parents believe the incident was the result of bullying from a fourth-grade student. However, Barnhart Elementary School has publicly maintained that the incident was nothing more than horseplay.
Now, The Shade Room’s Justin Carter is getting some answers and getting to the bottom of what really happened on ‘TSR Investigates.’
More Details On The Student Found Hanging In The Bathroom Of C. Paul Barnhart Elementary School
According to Carter, the 7-year-old is healing from his injuries and “slowly” being able to recall the events of the harrowing incident. The second grader was reportedly in the bathroom during lunchtime when a fourth-grade student walked in. To note, both children are reportedly of African American descent.
The next thing the child remembers is being hung on the hook of a bathroom stall.
“It’s no way my son jumped up there by himself,” the 7-year-old’s mother explained. “He had on a hoodie at the time, so his hood got caught on the hook, and his feet wasn’t touching the floor.”
Furthermore, the 7-year-old told his mom the puzzling words the fourth-grader allegedly said.
“Before the boy had did it, he said that the boy said, ‘I’m gonna do you like how I used to do people back in the day,'” the mother recalled to Carter.
The Parents Demand Justice
According to Carter, in a subsequent letter to parents, the school’s principal asserted that the fourth grader reported the incident. Additionally, the principal alleged that the pair had only been “horseplaying” in the bathroom.
Nonetheless, the 7-year-old’s parents have raised concerns about the school’s policies.
“Why’s a fourth grader in the same bathroom as a second grader?” the 7-year-old’s dad asked Carter.
Scroll above to watch the parents detail their concerns about the school’s response to the incident. Additionally, they share how they plan to hold all involved parties responsible for what occurred. Furthermore, Carter shares a statement from a spokesperson from the Charles County Sheriff’s Department in reaction to the incident.
