On September 9, PEOPLE published an exclusive interview with the rapper’s family. At the time, Quan’s family explained that details about his homegoing service would be shared with the public. Around the same time, Quan’s father, Corey, called into Yung Joc’s Streetz Morning Takeover Radio show.
While speaking with the platform, Corey explained that he initially wanted Quan’s service to be private so that he and his family “could start the healing process.” However, he realized that “without the fans, there would be no Quan.”
“And I know it would be a disservice to not allow the people that he touched to be able to come to the funeral… to pay their respects to my son,” he explained. “That’s why I said I want it to be a grand occasion.”
Ultimately, Quan’s memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 17, at a church in College Park, Georgia.
At the service, Quan was honored with his own day in Atlanta and South Fulton.
Additionally, DC Young Fly and Killer Mike were some of the figures who shared a few words about the late rapper.
