Quavo Pens Heartbreaking Note About Takeoff
For context, Takeoff was the son of Quavo’s sister. Before forming a group with Offset, the family members were raised together by Huncho’s mother. In a 2014 Vlad interview, Qua revealed that he’s not biologically related to Set but that they had known each other since fifth or sixth grade.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Quavo shared a photo of Takeoff dressed in a purple jacket and hat. The late rapper had his arms wide open as he bit his bottom lip near a pool. In white text, Huncho expressed his grief and affection for his fallen family.
“I miss everything about you bro. The greatest of all time damn I jus wanna smoke one wit u. Haven’t laughed in a good min too miss u take! Keep working ya one fa me kid #BLESSED.”
Other Times Huncho Expressed His Grief Over Take’s Death
As previously reported, Huncho was present when several bullets struck Takeoff while they were both at a private event at 819 Billards & Bowling. Footage that circulated at the time showed a distressed Quavo wailing “no” over his nephew’s bloodied body on the floor.
Houston police later revealed that a heated exchange had escalated to gunfire, but Take was cleared of doing “anything criminal.” A medical examiner ultimately found that the late rapper had suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head and torso.
Family and friends buried the Migos rapper in Atlanta on Nov. 11, 2022. One day after, Huncho took to Instagram with a heartfelt message about wanting to reunite with his nephew.
“Me and u knew we gon always be with each other for life and jus like now we gon see each other again. I love you with all my heart. I’ll never leave you. I guess God just ain’t need my help. So can you ask Him for me what I gotta do to be with you again!!!! In a place where there’s no pain, no demons, no jealousy, no envy, no greed. Whatever we have to do God to be at that place of paradise send us the tools now cuz we wanna be with Take. Love you, nephew,” Quavo wrote in a now-deleted post.
A few days into 2023, Qua released a track dedicated to his nephew called ‘Without You,’ in which he rapped about missing Takeoff and wanting a “time machine.”
In Feb. 2023, Quavo also paid tribute to Takeoff during a GRAMMY performance of ‘Without You,’ alongside the Maverick City Music Choir.

Like Huncho, Offset has also openly expressed his grief about Take’s death. He first opened up a few days after the funeral service, saying his “heart is shattered” in an Instagram message. In April 2023, Offset dedicated a huge back tattoo to his former Migos collaborator.
Most recently, following the death of Rich Homie Quan, Quavo revealed that he and Set had reconnected.
