The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has revealed more details about what happened in the moments leading up to the fatal shooting at Apalachee High School on Wednesday, September 4.

Here’s What The Georgia Bureau Of Investigation Has Revealed
According to CNN, the GBI revealed more information about the tragic event on Thursday, September 12. The bureau asserts that 14-year-old Colt Gray carried an AR-15-style firearm into his classroom on September 4.
“The assault-style rife could not be broken down, but Gray hid it in his backpack,” the bureau’s statement reads.
Additionally, the statement asserts that Gray “asked a teacher if he could go to the front office and speak to someone.”
“The teacher allowed him to leave and take his belongings with him,” the statement explained. “Gray went to the restroom and hid from teachers. Later, he took out the rifle, and began shooting.”
More Details About The Apalachee High School Shooting
As The Shade Room previously reported, Gray allegedly used the weapon to gun down two other 14-year-olds and two teachers. The teen victims have since been identified as Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, while the teachers have since been identified as Christina Irmie and Richard Aspinwall.
Per The Shade Room, it was also revealed that the incident left a total of seven people shot while nine were injured.
What Has Happened To Colt Gray, The Suspected School Shooter?
Since the fatal incident, Gray has been charged with four counts of murder, while his father, Colin Gray, has been charged with counts of involuntary manslaughter, second-degree murder, and child cruelty, per The Shade Room.

According to CNN, if Colt is convicted on all his charges, “he could face up to life in prison.” If the same is true for his father, Colin “could face a maximum prison sentence of up to 180 years.”
The outlet notes that both the father and son have not entered pleas. Meanwhile, Atlanta News First adds that the father and son will appear in court on December 4.
Furthermore, the outlet notes that a “grand jury has been empaneled” or chosen. The jury will reportedly “consider formal charges against them” on October 17.
Meanwhile, Colt Gray’s mother, Marcee, has been opening up about the tragic event. She recently told the press how she tried to prevent the “extreme emergency.” Then, on Wednesday, September 12, a letter was publicized, sharing her words for the families of the victims impacted by the shooting.
