Tucker Carlson claims Biden administration tried to ‘kill Putin’
The conservative pundit did not offer up any proof to support his incendiary claim.
Conservative American pundit Tucker Carlson accused the Joe Biden administration Monday of trying to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The Biden administration did, they tried to kill Putin,” the former Fox News anchor said in the latest episode of his podcast, “The Tucker Carlson Show.”
“Which is insane,” Carlson added. “That’s demented, that you would even think of something like that. So why were they? Because chaos is a screen that protects them.”
Carlson did not provide any evidence to back up his extraordinary claim about the Biden administration, which ran the U.S. from 2021 to 2025 as the Kremlin’s war on Ukraine ramped up.
Carlson — who was ousted from Fox News in 2023 amid the network’s legal troubles over its airing of inaccurate claims of electoral fraud in the 2020 U.S. presidential race, a conspiracy that Carlson often trumpeted on his show — has frequently parroted Kremlin talking points, criticizing U.S. military aid for Kyiv and calling Ukraine “not a democracy.”
He traveled to Moscow last February for a widely panned softball sit-down interview with Putin and went to Russia again in December to interview Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
